Ian will perform tonight in Halifax, Nova Scotia as part of the In the Dead of Winter Music Festival. Ian will play at The Company House (22 Groningen Street) at 9:30pm following the Abramson Singers (who start at 8:30pm) and preceding Pat LePoidevin (who starts at 10:30pm). Tickets are $12 at the door.

Ian will play tonight at Out Of The Blue art gallery in Cambridge, MA. Following an 8pm open mic, Ian will perform at 9pm. Ian will play this this afternoon at Evelyn’s Drive-In in Tiverton, RI as part of this year’s Singing Out Against Hunger. Ian’s half-hour set will begin at 4:30pm. In addition to a full day of music, there will be a silent auction and canned goods will be collected on site.

New England Americana Festival Tonight

Ian will play short sets at 7, 7:40, 8:20, and 9pm tonight at the New England Americana Festival. His 7pm set will kick off the evening, and there will be music on two stages through the early morn. The Festival takes place at Church in Boston. Admission is only $10.

Ian’s first shows of 2010 are rapidly approaching. The very first will take place this Saturday, 1.23.10, at Savoury Lane in Acton, MA. That show, which will also feature the Pavao Family Band, starts at 7pm; admission is free. WOMR & The Mews Today

Ian will be performing live on WOMR 92.1fm at 11am today. You can listen live online here. At 9pm tonight, Ian will perform a feature set following the open mic at The Mews in Provincetown, MA. The open mic portion of the evening will, at 8pm, precede Ian’s set. The proceedings are a benefit for WOMR, and a $3 donation toward that cause is recommended.

Ian will perform tonight at 9:15pm at Church in Boston. Ian will be preceded by Kier Byrnes at 8:30pm and followed by Brown Bird at 10pm and the Autumn Hollow Band, who will close out their weekly October residency at Church with a performance at 11pm. Admission to this event is $6.

Ian will perform this Saturday night, 10.03.09, at the Brooklyn Coffee & Tea House in Providence, RI. This will be Ian’s first show since the Boston Folk Festival and his first time back at the Brooklyn since March. Frank Martyn will serve as the evening’s host, and Patti DeRosa and Andria Mason will perform additional sets. The show starts 8pm; a $5 donation is suggested.

Lillian

“Lillian” was chosen co-winner of the Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest on 09.12. Ian and Ireland native Conor Sheehan shared top prize in the adult division and both, along with youth division winner Molly Pinto-Madigan, returned to perform on the Festival’s main stage the next day. You can now hear “Lillian” on Ian’s MySpace and Facebook pages.

Boston Folk Festival

Ian’s song “Lillian” has been selected as one of the five finalists for this year’s Boston Folk Festival Songwriting Contest. Ian will perform that song at the Finals on Saturday, 09.12.09.
